why has the Powerhouse gotten so shitty. the smoke out back is deadly. it is starting to seep into the bar. i really wish they would be a little more careful, i don't want to see them get closed down.

Thu, April 3, 2008 - 5:02 PMI agree! I went there the other night and couldnt stop coughing from all the smoke coming from the back room. Isn't there a way to blow the smoke outside and not back into the bar?

Re: Smoke Out!
Fri, April 4, 2008 - 8:11 AMi so completely agree. i don't know how it got so amped-up smoky back there. (remember when it was relatively smoke-free and naughty-full? [sigh])
but, as a non-smoker, i honestly can't linger back there for longer than a minute max. i enter, can't breathe and barely see, and turn right around. it's a cigarette coffin. they really need to think about some ventilation solution, to maybe pump some of that toxic exhaust out into dore alley. or something. the air quality really is deadly back there.

Re: Smoke Out!
Fri, April 25, 2008 - 1:56 PMThe other day I suggested to Scott that a negative ion generator (aka an "ionizer") might be in order. The most famous of these is the one from Sharper Image, but there are a lot of them that are far cheaper. I've used negative ion generators successfully in offices and it was amazing at how the air attracts smoke particles, and then drops them to the ground. The floor has to be cleaned from time to time, but that's about it. These ionizers don't even use filters. They have metal blades that simply have to be wiped clean from time to time.
